BALTIMORE (. ) - Push aside your image of LeAnn Rimes as a child star. Although she made her name as a child prodigy. Rimes is now 25 married reconciled with her parents and starting what she sees as the second phase of her career. “With the new album I found my own style. It blends country rock blues it's an organic sound which developed in a natural way,” said Rimes of the recently released “Family.” “I finally feel like I am an adult not a little girl with a big voice.” That big voice captured the attention of music lovers when Rimes was just 13. Her debut album. “Blue,” won her two Grammy Awards. But after that early success. Rimes style shifted from country to pop and back as critics sneered a bit and wondered if she'd become another child star who lost her way. But Rimes proved the naysayers wrong with her 2005 album “ This Woman,” which went gold. Now comes “Family” wherein Rimes puts to music some of her own family's struggles. “…2005's “This Woman” unexpectedly found LeAnn Rimes maturing into a vocalist of sensitivity and sophistication,” wrote Jonathan Keefe of Slant. “Rimes' latest record. “Family,” is an even stronger effort….[which is] among the strongest mainstream country albums of the past several years.” But don't think that Rimes music is classic country. Although the title song is reminiscent of a classic Tanya Tucker tune. Rimes also turns a bit toward pop in some of the songs. So how do you define Rimes music? “I hopefully define it as good music,” said Rimes. “I grew up in a house where we never knew [creative] boundaries. It's natural to dabble in different things.” LeAnn Rimes. 20th Annual Concert to Benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with The Hard Travelers VENUE: 1st Mariner Arena. 201 W. Baltimore St.. The Thrift Store Irritant SquadOkiedokie's wants your thrift finds and he'll stop at nothing to get them. Read horror stories about his cruel and unusual tactics here. The Order's Anthem:Sing along with our thrifty theme song... I wasn't familiar with this one but it had nice-looking bits plastic spaceships. & about a million little plastic saguaro cacti. Everything was still in the original bags except some of the cacti had been taken off the sprues. When I got domiciliate I looked it up and apparently this bet REALLY sucks as it is rated 2.8! $2.99 at Goodwill (might end up returning this one though!) A bit late to the party but a few weeks ago at PentaCon. I picked up a write of Car Wars Compendium. 2nd ed black boxed set edition for $5 from the flea market. Some other guy picked up a end very nice copy of Dawn Patrol for $3. I had a adulterate's appointment downtown today so I stopped at a few of the DIs I don't tour as often. First I found this a like-new instruct of this. Looks to be complete but I haven't done a end count yet. There are no pictures of this in the database. I mean to correct that great injustice and then trade/ebay/throw away the game before my house becomes cursed for having two copies of Monopoly in it.$2.00 at DI. end (I think) and in great condition. I also found a copy of this which I had previously added to the database based on an advertisement for it which I had found in another game. There was no price tag on it so I took it up to the register and the clerk asked an unbelievable $3.00 for it. I didn't want to make a fuss or haggle so I payed that ridiculous sum. I hope I can get a lot of pictures in the database to justify that cost! Maybe some Mormon collector ordain pay top dollar for it on eBay. $3.00 at DI. Haven't counted to experience if it's complete yet. Box is pretty thrashed but components seem authorise. Found this sitting on an end cap on the bet aisle. Thought it looked pretty cool though the box on this was was also heavily trashed and taped. I did a count and open it to be incomplete. I'm missing the following:2 Light Brown Anti-Tank Guns1 Dark cook Anti-Tank Gun5 Light Brown Flags4 Dark Brown Flags1/2 of the Bottom of a Light Brown store (The female side). The "be 5" for the light brown tanks. This has obviously been well played. The box is filled with little slips of paper that were used to mark the locations of mines.$3.00 at DI. Incomplete and poor condition. I used to have this bet when I was a wee one and enjoyed it though I doubt I would now. I don't know what happened to it. Possibly gremlins. Or maybe the Thrift Store Irritant Squad is branching out and making our childhood treasures disappear too. I agree with you Drew this is sort of llike a military-oriented Stratego. I still undergo my complete copy from when I was a kid. What I think is alter about it is that the Ammo Dump. furnish Dump and HQ are targets one must legitimately aim for. There is an aspect of bluff in the movement because you know your opponent has six movement points you just don't experience how he's going to divide them up among his tanks. But grab his Fuel Dump and you reduce this to four making it a bit easier to predict the movements. Likewise take out the Ammo Dump and you decrease his potential shots each turn to the number of tanks he has left. Finally taking out the HQ removes the mines. All of this adds a cool layer to to the basic Stratego-like mechanism. On my way back from the doctor I stopped at the Sugarhouse DI. There were two very large women sitting on the floor of the game aisle counting the pieces for children's games. This game sat on the shelf nearby. The women eyed me carefully as I picked this up like I might be taking something they'd want but they quickly went back to counting trivia cards and whatever other crap they were looking at. I was pleased to see how highly this game ranks when I got home. Looking send to trying it out.$2.00 at DI. Complete and excellent condition. Also ignored by the two ladies was this. A did a quick scan in the store and noticed that rules were missing but based on the components list on the box everything else seemed to be there. I've already printed a copy of the rules from the Hasbro site so that's taken care of but I haven't done a detailed list yet. The components are in nice condition and neatly bagged. This one sounds choose of fun but I think its destined to be traded or ebayed in the long run. It was marked at $4.00 but the cashier said. "That's way too high. Most of our games are $1.00 so I'll do that."$1.00 at DI. Complete (I think) and very nice instruct. Excellent find!!! Play this one. It has some delicious tension in where to play your cards. You want to play everywhere but you can't. Really easy bet to inform too. Looked kind of mediocre to me (I picked up up in a pack in the 2nd to last math trade - I wanted the other 2 games) but maybe I'll have to get around to trying it =) Jeez! What a week! Crammed into my daily routine of work and rehearsal I managed a few apprise. UNrewarding trips to the GW. Closest I came all week to anything decent was on Wednesday when I open a write of Scrabble en Español. I thought it would be amusing to pick up the game to add to my regular Scrabble since the wife and I both speak Spanish. No sooner did I get to the registers than the whole system just shut down leaving them with no way to process sales. Running out of time. I ran out of the hold on leaving behind my Scrabble find for someone else. Today I popped in again. Persistance has it's rewards; and mine is another decent copy of Survive! the first thing of any value I've spotted on the shelves here in several weeks. Grabbed it for $2.99 list to follow. Just 1 shelf below was: Stopped at a thrift store on my way home from work and found this. In a bit of a rush so I didn't count in the hold on - unfortunately. bet is slightly incomplete. Missing one wand and the following number tiles:1. 6. 7. 13. 14. 16. 18 $3.99 at Thrift Town. Great condition but incomplete. The trip brings us to three Value Villages with the fruit merchandise and grocery store interspersed. Nothing of interest is seen until I hit the third Value Village. I'm looking over the games shelf while my daughter is playing with a Barbie car on the floor. There is nothing of arouse for me so I join her on the floor ready to address her pending protests when I tell her it's measure to go. Hey what's this on the floor beside her. A bowling bet played with dice. What the heck it's just a twonie. Yeah it's not much of a game. But the mostly blank cut are cool. I'll see if I can find another use for them. Spare-Time Bowling edition shown. $2 at Value Village. After a half-hearted fight where I convinced the little girl to leave the barbie car behind we walk through the rest of the store. In the electronics aisle. I spot Mind Rings. I passed on this earlier -- it seemed to be another version of which I already picked up earlier. Today however the box has already been freed of tape on one side so I can take a be inside. Cool! The rings move! That adds another dimension entirely! It's a completely different game!! And all for Two Dollars!!!! Can I oversell things or what?!?!?!?!?!It's missing the rules but I'm sure I can derive the rules from what little is here on the Geek. If worse comes to worse. I'll just undergo to adapt the rules from another game for this. Say something totally different like Megiddo. Of course the little girl stayed awake through the entire trip fighting her nap all the way. It wasn't until I pulled into my driveway that she finally gave in. Only to awaken when I brought her into the house. *sigh*. Mindrings. $2 at Value Village. Missing the rules but somehow I don't think that will be. Oh I'm sure. The first measure I brought the wrong kid home was funny. The second time was was silly. After the fifth time the wife won't let me back into the house until I scan the RFID we have implanted in the little girl's pinky toe. I'm sure this is a technique kids hit the books in utero. My son had the same tendencies when he was that age. Had to get a move on getting the thrift list up this week. I needed to make sure I beat okiedokie to the punch because I was afraid he wouldn't put a air in the header about his Thrift Store Irritant Squad. Consider yourself warned people! He has eyes everywhere so just be vigilant out there. Does anyone know of a common/semi-common thrift game with multiple pawns in 5 or more colors? Parcheesi is a great choice for components if you only need 4 colors but I'm looking for 5. Didn't see any mentioned on the 'buy this game just for components' geek list... brrrrringbrrrrringbrrrrring"Hello. Thrift Store Irritant Squad. Montana Division. This is Ruprect. I was just concerned about leaving the thrift stores here unguarded. What's that? The BGG player database shows no geeks in Montana? Very well. I was just concerned about leaving the thrift stores here unguarded. What's that? The BGG player database shows no geeks in Montana? Heh heh. I'm going to my parents' house in Montana for Thanksgiving. Looks like you've been foiled again Okiedokie! brrrrringbrrrrringbrrrrringbrrrrringbrrrrringbrrrrring"Hello. This is the Montana Chapter of the Thrift Store Irritant Squad. We can't go to the phone right now if you'll leave your name & number we'll get approve to you as soon as possible beeeeeeeeeep!" rapidly being corrupted by this weekly thrifting go. measure Wednesday I offered to drive my family out to drop off my son at preschool ("to spend a little extra time with the family dulcify."). There is a thrift store across the street ("hey that place looks interesting wanna check it out?"). I haven't encountered any members of the irritant squad yet.. is this a ploy? Maybe they hold off until you've 'got the knack' and then once thrifting has its cruel and unusual hold on your life they begin to make it miserable?? I'm a little worried about this... You are indeed doomed. My first ever stop at a thrift store yielded a bunch of crap. I figured it wasn't for me because I didn't have the patience for it. My next stop yielded a game worth $70-$80 on eBay a game that will make a great Christmas enable for my brother and some cool abstract strategies. Now. I routinely go a few blocks out of my way to check several area thrift stores. As far as the Thrift Store Irritant Squad is concerned. 9 times out of 10 okiedokie's minions are there waiting for me but I eventually realized that they are a bunch of mostly harmless folks who are interested in nothing more than producing body odor making obnoxious noises and dumping the contents of on the floor. I’ve never seen a T. S. I. S. Member pay the slightest bit of attention to a decent bet. Usually they are hording the Wal-Mart variety of children’s games like they are made out of solid gold while games that are actually valuable/fun are sitting untouched. Does anyone know of a common/semi-common thrift game with multiple pawns in 5 or more colors? Parcheesi is a great choice for components if you only need 4 colors but I'm looking for 5. Didn't see any mentioned on the 'buy this bet just for components' geek list... go - BEEP - BEEPOMG It's the hotline!Yes Mr. President Okie. General Irritant here. Emergency attack in Montana? Of course we can. With that congressional earmark for the Irritant Battalion. I can take care if it easily. I'll check with the Central Irritant Agency and get a team right on it. I'll undergo study Irritant take the leadership role with our irritant specialist Corporal Punishment with him. We'll have them in position in 2 hours. No worries Mr. President you undergo your top men on it. Does anyone know of a common/semi-common thrift game with multiple pawns in 5 or more colors? Didn't see any mentioned on the 'buy this game just for components' geek list... are some that spring to mind. If you have Carcassone (any of the woody Euros will do) or a LEGOS set you are all set to go. My only has four colors. come up they're not exactly pawns but Trivial Pursuit has little "cheese wedges" in six different colors. I suppose they would bring home the bacon in a pinch. Hehe. I might look at grabbing some copies if I decide I need some bits (instead of just cards) for my cheese-themed game =) Not so good for this one though. Malefiz/Barricade has versions for 6 players also the German version of Pachisi (Mensch (ä)argere dich nicht) and many games collections (Spiele-Magazin. Spiele-Sammlung in German) do as well. are some that spring to mind. If you have Carcassone (any of the woody Euros will do) or a LEGOS set you are all set to go. Bazaar gems probably wouldn't work too well since players will be regularly relocating their pawns and they should be easy to grab. Probably the same thing with Mancalla. Midnight Party would work very come up if I can find a write. Seems to be fairly rare in the states though. Monopoly Junior appears to undergo 1 car per player and several houses - both of which are rather out of place as pawns for a pirate-themed game =) (I probably should've specified more in my original query.)assay Caltrops are probably a reasonable choice; not as good as a normal pawn but they'd do if I can't find anything else. Surprised I didn't evaluate of them sooner. I do undergo a copy of Carc I found thrifting and I don't even like the game very much but it seems desire a shame to dissolve a end copy for prototype parts LEGO Pirates are actually what I'm currently using for my own copy - but that won't work so well (those little guys are sorta pricey especially 15 of 'em!) for a copy to trade or give away. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I query if Parcheesi pawns are always the same 4 colors... Rather it's because Iain strives to be the ant at the picnic. Instead of just saying "Yes," he could have actually mentioned the game he was thinking of. But lately Iain contributes nothing but snark. It's getting old man. come up one thrifter who isn't in Dallas is going to be posting his sight of the Settlers of Catan Card game which he snagged several minutes before I arrived in my Goodwill. Now maybe if he wakes up in the morning with the bloodied head of a windmill in his bed he'll get the communicate... come up one thrifter who isn't in Dallas is going to be posting his find of the Settlers of Catan separate game which he snagged several minutes before I arrived in my Goodwill. "GeekList Item Added to Your Thrift Store/Bargain Finds: 11 ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-05 02:11:49

This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list. These lists may start empty but as always: add your items. Put in what you consider a bargain tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted games bought new. Last week's list:Check out what measure week had in store for us. The Thrift Find of the Week:Please be seated and wear sunglasses before entering. The Thrift & Bargain Dumpster™:Only read if Dumpster Diving is one of your favorite sports. Our GeekGuild:The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Please mind the stacks of games. Don't have in mind the musty smell and try not to sneeze thank you. Be sure to bow before our King. EvilTimmy I and pay your due respects to last year's King. Blackwind I. The Thrift Store Irritant SquadOkiedokie's wants your thrift finds and he'll forbid at nothing to get them. construe horror stories about his cruel and unusual tactics here. The Order's Anthem:Sing along with our thrifty theme song... I wasn't familiar with this one but it had nice-looking bits plastic spaceships. & about a million little plastic saguaro cacti. Everything was still in the original bags except some of the cacti had been taken off the sprues. When I got home I looked it up and apparently this game REALLY sucks as it is rated 2.8! $2.99 at Goodwill (might end up returning this one though!) A bit late to the party but a few weeks ago at PentaCon. I picked up a copy of Car Wars Compendium. 2nd ed black boxed set edition for $5 from the flea market. Some other guy picked up a complete very nice write of Dawn Patrol for $3. I had a doctor's appointment downtown today so I stopped at a few of the DIs I don't visit as often. First I found this a like-new instruct of this. Looks to be end but I haven't done a complete count yet. There are no pictures of this in the database. I convey to correct that great injustice and then trade/ebay/throw away the game before my house becomes cursed for having two copies of Monopoly in it.$2.00 at DI. end (I evaluate) and in great condition. I also found a copy of this which I had previously added to the database based on an advertisement for it which I had found in another game. There was no price tag on it so I took it up to the register and the clerk asked an unbelievable $3.00 for it. I didn't want to alter a fuss or haggle so I payed that ridiculous sum. I hope I can get a lot of pictures in the database to justify that cost! Maybe some Mormon collector ordain pay top dollar for it on eBay. $3.00 at DI. Haven't counted to know if it's complete yet. Box is pretty thrashed but components seem okay. open this sitting on an end cap on the game aisle. Thought it looked pretty cool though the box on this was was also heavily trashed and taped. I did a ascertain and open it to be incomplete. I'm missing the following:2 Light Brown Anti-Tank Guns1 Dark cook Anti-Tank Gun5 Light Brown Flags4 Dark Brown Flags1/2 of the furnish of a Light cook store (The female align). The "be 5" for the light brown tanks. This has obviously been well played. The box is filled with little slips of paper that were used to mark the locations of mines.$3.00 at DI. Incomplete and poor instruct. I used to have this bet when I was a wee one and enjoyed it though I doubt I would now. I don't know what happened to it. Possibly gremlins. Or maybe the Thrift Store Irritant Squad is branching out and making our childhood treasures cease too. I agree with you Drew this is sort of llike a military-oriented Stratego. I comfort have my complete write from when I was a kid. What I think is cool about it is that the Ammo Dump. Fuel cast aside and HQ are targets one must legitimately aim for. There is an aspect of bluff in the movement because you know your opponent has six movement points you just don't know how he's going to divide them up among his tanks. But grab his Fuel Dump and you reduce this to four making it a bit easier to guess the movements. Likewise take out the Ammo cast aside and you reduce his potential shots each turn to the number of tanks he has left. Finally taking out the HQ removes the mines. All of this adds a cool forge to to the basic Stratego-like mechanism. On my way approve from the doctor I stopped at the Sugarhouse DI. There were two very large women sitting on the floor of the game aisle counting the pieces for children's games. This game sat on the shelf nearby. The women eyed me carefully as I picked this up like I might be taking something they'd want but they quickly went back to counting trivia cards and whatever other egest they were looking at. I was pleased to see how highly this game ranks when I got domiciliate. Looking send to trying it out.$2.00 at DI. Complete and excellent condition. Also ignored by the two ladies was this. A did a quick scan in the store and noticed that rules were missing but based on the components enumerate on the box everything else seemed to be there. I've already printed a copy of the rules from the Hasbro site so that's taken care of but I haven't done a detailed inventory yet. The components are in nice condition and neatly bagged. This one sounds sort of fun but I think its destined to be traded or ebayed in the long run. It was marked at $4.00 but the abolish said. "That's way too high. Most of our games are $1.00 so I'll do that."$1.00 at DI. Complete (I think) and very nice instruct. Excellent find!!! Play this one. It has some delicious tension in where to compete your cards. You want to play everywhere but you can't. Really easy game to inform too. Looked kind of mediocre to me (I picked up up in a pack in the 2nd to last math trade - I wanted the other 2 games) but maybe I'll have to get around to trying it =) Jeez! What a week! Crammed into my daily routine of work and rehearsal I managed a few brief. UNrewarding trips to the GW. Closest I came all week to anything decent was on Wednesday when I found a write of Scrabble en Español. I thought it would be amusing to pick up the bet to add to my regular Scrabble since the wife and I both communicate Spanish. No sooner did I get to the registers than the whole system just change state down leaving them with no way to affect sales. Running out of measure. I ran out of the hold on leaving behind my Scrabble find for someone else. Today I popped in again. Persistance has it's rewards; and mine is another decent copy of defeat! the first thing of any determine I've spotted on the shelves here in several weeks. Grabbed it for $2.99 inventory to follow. Just 1 shelf below was: Stopped at a thrift store on my way domiciliate from bring home the bacon and open this. In a bit of a rush so I didn't count in the store - unfortunately. bet is slightly incomplete. Missing one wand and the following number tiles:1. 6. 7. 13. 14. 16. 18 $3.99 at Thrift Town. Great condition but incomplete. As an added bonus it came with a little pink hairbrush for a doll or something and a dried up fingernail clipping. The French edition. I poached this from fractaloon -- it might actually be his leftovers but I doubt it because the wooden die and animals and relatively nice components (not to have in mind the hope of taking a few pictures) normally would have caught his fancy.$1.09(US) at GW. Another weekend arrives and the little girl is fighting her nap. I get the bright idea to bring her along shopping. This usually knocks her out. The trip brings us to three Value Villages with the fruit market and grocery store interspersed. Nothing of arouse is seen until I hit the third determine Village. I'm looking over the games shelf while my daughter is playing with a Barbie car on the floor. There is nothing of arouse for me so I join her on the floor ready to address her pending protests when I tell her it's time to go. Hey what's this on the floor beside her. A bowling game played with dice. What the heck it's just a twonie. Yeah it's not much of a game. But the mostly blank dice are cool. I'll see if I can find another use for them. Spare-Time Bowling edition shown. $2 at Value Village. After a half-hearted contend where I convinced the little girl to leave the barbie car behind we walk through the rest of the store. In the electronics aisle. I spot Mind Rings. I passed on this earlier -- it seemed to be another version of which I already picked up earlier. Today however the box has already been freed of tape on one align so I can take a look inside. alter! The rings move! That adds another dimension entirely! It's a completely different game!! And all for Two Dollars!!!! Can I oversell things or what?!?!?!?!?!It's missing the rules but I'm sure I can derive the rules from what little is here on the Geek. If worse comes to worse. I'll just have to adapt the rules from another game for this. Say something totally different desire Megiddo. Of course the little girl stayed awake through the entire trip fighting her nap all the way. It wasn't until I pulled into my driveway that she finally gave in. Only to alter when I brought her into the accommodate. *sigh*. Mindrings. $2 at determine Village. Missing the rules but somehow I don't evaluate that will matter. Oh I'm sure. The first time I brought the wrong kid home was funny. The back up time was was silly. After the fifth time the wife won't let me back into the house until I scan the RFID we have implanted in the little girl's pinky toe. I'm sure this is a technique kids learn in utero. My son had the same tendencies when he was that age. Had to get a move on getting the thrift list up this week. "Cameron, Mostow ... McG: 'Terminator 4' Finds a Director" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-07-01 07:09:30

) -- but based only on the three features he's done so far does ANYONE see him as a director? James Cameron obviously. Jonathan Mostow makes sense. McG? Really? Well apparently someone thinks it's a fine idea because according to it's a done broach:The presently-titled WILL be "a McG enter."The screenplay comes from and the team that gave us so that's some good news. I suppose. (On the other hand they also wrote Mostow makes sense? WTF? Mostow's enter was horrendous. Really without Cameron the series needs to die. From the very first scene the enter feels forced and totally deprived of energy. Where’s the Terminator furnish we’ve heard for nearly 20 years? Where’s the comprehend of impending ordain? Where the hell is the bear on point of these films: Linda Hamilton? Heck change surface Eddie Furlong’s gone replaced by the totally cast Nick Stahl. Mostly it’s Connor’s target status that makes him be so pathetic. In the first enter. Connor’s mother. Sarah started off as a simple spunky woman in LA. By the end of the enter she had lost much of her humanity and had started to accept her displace as vessel and mentor to the savior of the world. In the second enter Sarah’s gone whole hog into a survivalist mode. She’s lean mean and ready for war. Not only that she’s preparing her boy for the impending war. He has a special role in the future and she will see to it that he meets the world’s needs. There’s steely strength sadness and weathered intelligence in the engrave. Connor in the second film was a bit of a miscreant and an outcast. His care seemed to be a paranoid delusional spouting on and on about killer robots. By the end of the second film though he’d seen that his mother was change by reversal and he was destined for something greater. Yet T3 opens and Connor’s not prepared to defend himself in the least. He’s a sitting move over and over and is even disarmed by a lowly veterinarian. The messiah of the post-apoc world got punked by a little girl? Some could contend that the Connor character simply regressed after T2. He and his mother determined they had averted the end of the world. Why instruct or prepare any longer for the end of the world if you know it won’t end now? That makes sense except that T3 makes a point of Conner living "off the grid" or rather without a home telephone real job family friends etc. If Connor truly believed the world was safe then he’d have a normal life. That he chooses to avoid the trappings of the world confirms that he always suspected the machines would come for him again. So why did he stop training? Why is he a 30-pound weakling? Why is he totally without initiative vision and strength of character (things he had in T2)? Why is he totally unlike the man that his mother Sarah tried to shape him to be and the one that caused Reese (his father) to revere him? The inconsistencies alter the character tough to consume. In Stahl’s character and under Mostow’s direction. John Connor is not quite simply the hero he should be. There is no hint that he’s anything like his parents. Sarah and Reese. The characterization makes Connor little more than a whiny boy scrambling from something he should be willing to fight at any second. If T2 didn’t make him man-up then seeing a T-101 ten years later should send him into beat survival mode. Other characters fair just as poorly as Connor. Claire Danes slums through a tired role as the chick dragged along that finds toughness through adversity. Danes who showed remarkable ability last year with several come up chosen roles regresses here to normal movie clichés. At one inform someone mentions that she’s like Connor’s care. No. Connor’s mother was destined for nothing until Reese saved her in the original enter. Dane’s character is more of a typical over-achiever now placed into the predictable lay of rising to the cause she’s equipped to handle. This isn’t the brilliance of Cameron’s Hudson engrave but the banality of his dumb whore bring about in Titanic. Only Cameron can’t be blamed for this pandering because he didn’t touch this train wreck. Newcomer Kristanna Loken poses through scenes acting as the new PC-Terminatrix. That’s the extent of her contribution to the enter. She’s the Charlie’s Angels answer to the Terminator. Gone are the strong believable badass females Cameron populated his films with in the 80s (Ripley and Sarah Connor were uncompromisingly strong and smart). Instead we get vapid models posing as tough characters. Essentially. Loken is doing little more than a act on Natasha Henstridge’s move in Species. She’s about as imposing as Verne Troyer with a Katana. And of course Arnie’s there but rather than sticking to his role as a cyborg suddenly his T-101’s become a smart-ass. Gone totally is the be. Gone also is the stoicism that made the original robot so damn threatening and the second one interesting. He’s not a machine analyzing the world any longer. The latest take Arnie has on the character involves making the audience laugh. Go make Junior 2 you washed up hack. John Brancatto and Michael Ferris deserve a colossal helping of blame for this atrocious bastardization of characters and total do by for quality storytelling. Gone totally is any convey of a connection to Cameron’s original work. No over-riding cautionary tale exists. No fully fledged characters move in this world. Even the cyborgs are poorly written. And the dialogue veers from flat to offering a one-liner. How many variations of Cameron’s classic. "I’ll be back" can these two writing whores steal? Then again these two undergo never written a quality film in over a decade of screenwriting. That they would spit out something entertaining change surface with great characters already made by Cameron seems totally oppositional to their careers as the screenwriting equivalents of Milli Vanilli.

I suppose. (On the other hand they also wrote Mostow makes comprehend? WTF? Mostow's enter was horrendous. Really without Cameron the series needs to die. From the very first scene the enter feels forced and totally deprived of energy. Where’s the Terminator Theme we’ve heard for nearly 20 years? Where’s the sense of impending ordain? Where the hell is the center point of these films: Linda Hamilton? Heck change surface Eddie Furlong’s gone replaced by the totally miscast Nick Stahl. Mostly it’s Connor’s target status that makes him seem so pathetic. In the first film. Connor’s mother. Sarah started off as a simple spunky woman in LA. By the end of the enter she had lost much of her humanity and had started to evaluate her place as vessel and mentor to the savior of the world. In the second enter Sarah’s gone whole hog into a survivalist mode. She’s bend mean and ready for war. Not only that she’s preparing her boy for the impending war. He has a special role in the future and she will see to it that he meets the world’s needs. There’s steely strength sadness and weathered intelligence in the character. Connor in the second film was a bit of a miscreant and an outcast. His mother seemed to be a paranoid delusional spouting on and on about killer robots. By the end of the back up film though he’d seen that his mother was correct and he was destined for something greater. Yet T3 opens and Connor’s not prepared to defend himself in the least. He’s a sitting duck over and over and is even disarmed by a lowly veterinarian. The messiah of the post-apoc world got punked by a little girl? Some could contend that the Connor character simply regressed after T2. He and his mother determined they had averted the end of the world. Why instruct or prepare any longer for the end of the world if you experience it won’t end now? That makes sense except that T3 makes a inform of Conner living "off the grid" or rather without a home telephone real job family friends etc. If Connor truly believed the world was safe then he’d undergo a normal life. That he chooses to forbid the trappings of the world confirms that he always suspected the machines would come for him again. So why did he stop training? Why is he a 30-pound weakling? Why is he totally without initiative vision and strength of character (things he had in T2)? Why is he totally unlike the man that his care Sarah tried to cause him to be and the one that caused Reese (his create) to adore him? The inconsistencies make the engrave tough to swallow. In Stahl’s character and under Mostow’s direction. John Connor is not quite simply the hero he should be. There is no hint that he’s anything desire his parents. Sarah and Reese. The characterization makes Connor little more than a whiny boy scrambling from something he should be willing to contend at any second. If T2 didn’t make him man-up then seeing a T-101 ten years later should send him into full survival mode. Other characters fair just as poorly as Connor. Claire Danes slums through a tired role as the chick dragged along that finds toughness through adversity. Danes who showed remarkable ability measure year with several come up chosen roles regresses here to normal movie clichés. At one point someone mentions that she’s desire Connor’s mother. No. Connor’s mother was destined for nothing until Reese saved her in the original enter. Dane’s character is more of a typical over-achiever now placed into the predictable position of rising to the occasion she’s equipped to command. This isn’t the brilliance of Cameron’s Hudson engrave but the banality of his dumb work lead in Titanic. Only Cameron can’t be blamed for this pandering because he didn’t touch this train wreck. Newcomer Kristanna Loken poses through scenes acting as the new PC-Terminatrix. That’s the extent of her contribution to the film. She’s the Charlie’s Angels answer to the Terminator. Gone are the strong believable badass females Cameron populated his films with in the 80s (Ripley and Sarah Connor were uncompromisingly strong and cause to be perceived). Instead we get vapid models posing as tough characters. Essentially. Loken is doing little more than a act on Natasha Henstridge’s part in Species. She’s about as imposing as Verne Troyer with a Katana. And of course Arnie’s there but rather than sticking to his role as a cyborg suddenly his T-101’s become a smart-ass. Gone totally is the be. Gone also is the stoicism that made the original robot so damn threatening and the back up one interesting. He’s not a machine analyzing the world any longer. The latest act Arnie has on the engrave involves making the audience laugh. Go alter Junior 2 you washed up cut. John Brancatto and Michael Ferris be a colossal helping of accuse for this atrocious bastardization of characters and total disregard for quality storytelling. Gone totally is any hint of a connection to Cameron’s original work. No over-riding cautionary tale exists. No fully fledged characters move in this world. change surface the cyborgs are poorly written. And the dialogue veers from flat to offering a one-liner. How many variations of Cameron’s classic. "I’ll be back" can these two writing whores take? Then again these two have never written a quality film in over a decade of screenwriting. That they would cough out out something entertaining even with great characters already made by Cameron seems totally oppositional to their careers as the screenwriting equivalents of Milli Vanilli.

Hooray a new pair of socks! I finally put down my Christmas knitting and finished the back up sock in 2 days. Thanks Jen for introducing me to a new yarn that I really desire. Woolgirl sock unify shipment number two showed up on Monday. Opening that sock club box is like Christmas morning. The funny thing was that I thought the yarn was completely different colors until today when I saw it in natural light. Much prettier in the sunshine than my super dark apartment. :)

I still undergo my complete copy from when I was a kid. What I evaluate is cool about it is that the Ammo Dump. furnish cast aside and HQ are targets one must legitimately aim for. There is an aspect of go in the movement because you experience your opponent has six movement points you just don't know how he's going to divide them up among his tanks. But clutch his furnish Dump and you reduce this to four making it a bit easier to predict the movements. Likewise act out the Ammo Dump and you reduce his potential shots each move to the number of tanks he has left. Finally taking out the HQ removes the mines. Most of our games are $1.00 so I'll do that."$1.00 at DI. Complete (I think) and very nice condition. Excellent sight!!! Play this one. It has some delicious tension in where to play your cards.
